Chinese Qigong Enters the Highest Echelon of Modern Medicine ・ International Life Energy Master Mr. Liang Guo Appointed as a Researcher

[Jiji Medical, Tokyo, September 20, 2025] The Asian Longevity Research Institute held its grand opening ceremony on September 20, 2025, at the Meiji Kinenkan in Tokyo, the historical venue where Emperor Meiji hosted distinguished guests and diplomatic events. Dr. Shigeo Horie, a renowned professor of medicine and vice dean at Juntendo University, was appointed as the president of the "Asian Longevity Research Institute". Professor Horie's appointment signifies a new era for the institute in the field of global health and longevity science.

The inauguration ceremony was a prestigious event, attended by influential figures from the medical, scientific, and financial sectors from countries including the United States and Singapore. Key guests included:

Mr. Toshihiro Hirosaki, Chairman of the Asian Longevity Research Institute

Ms. Asami Sakamoto, Director of the Asian Longevity Research Institute

Mr. Takeo Kawamura, former Chief Cabinet Secretary and Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan

Dr. Hachiro Sugimoto, a Doctor of Pharmacy from Nagoya Aoi University and a leading authority in Japanese brain science research

Mr. Liang Guo, International Life Energy Master (Qigong)

Representatives from fund companies in the United States and Singapore

At the ceremony, Chairman Hirosaki delivered a significant speech outlining his vision: "We will empower life with science, pioneer the future with innovation, and work hand-in-hand with global partners to truly realize the 'era of the centenarian'!". He and the guests witnessed the institute's mission declaration for the future of human health and longevity.

The formal establishment and appointment ceremony was a grand affair, where Mr.     Hirosaki, Professor Horie, and numerous authorities from medicine, science, and finance celebrated the institute's new journey with the mission to "Integrate Eastern and Western wisdom to co-create a future society of health and longevity".

The institute will operate within a "systems medicine" framework, focusing on key areas such as genetic regulation, metabolic intervention, cognitive enhancement, and environmental factor modulation to extend healthy human lifespan. Core research currently covers iPS cell reprogramming, NAD+ metabolism enhancement, epigenetic regulation, and microbiome management, with international collaborations already established with Juntendo University in Japan, Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine, and the University of Indonesia, among other renowned institutions.

In terms of research commercialization, the institute has already promoted the application of several cutting-edge technologies, including stem cell therapy, an AI-driven personalized NMN supplementation system, and small-molecule mitochondrial repair technology. It has also scientifically validated traditional Eastern anti-aging materials like Ganoderma lucidum spore oil and Lignosus rhinocerotis, while integrating non-pharmacological interventions such as Bigu (fasting) therapy, breathing techniques, and hydrogen therapy. In the future, the Asian Longevity Research Institute will focus on:

1, Personalized health plans supported by genetic and metabolic testing

2, Metabolic remodeling technology through Bigu (fasting)

3, Combined therapy of stem cells and young plasma factors

4, A system for enhancing brain cognition

5, Full life-cycle health management for women

6, Building an international platform for longevity resorts

7, Developing a health prediction system based on digital twin technology in cooperation with WeTa Celestial

Chinese International Life Energy Master and Qigong Expert Liang Guo Joins Academic Committee, Highlighting the Value of Traditional Chinese Wisdom

The institute's academic committee brings together top global experts, including brain science and pharmacology expert Dr. Hachiro Sugimoto, International Life Energy Master Liang Guo, Okinawa Health Industry Association representative Yukiyasu Sano, North American Spine Society expert Satoshi Sobajima, National Award for Outstanding Contribution winner Yanchao Qi, and Future Health Life Science and Technology Group founder Hao Tian.

On this momentous occasion, we introduce Mr. Liang Guo, a Chinese resident in Japan invited to join the "Asian Longevity Research Institute" as one of its world-class scholars and experts. Born into a medical family in the ancient Chinese capital of Xi'an, Mr. Guo was selected as a professional martial arts athlete at the age of 13 and was a senior fellow disciple of kung fu superstars Jet Li and Changjun Zhao. However, a severe injury later left him on crutches; at his worst, he could not stand for even two minutes. Despite seeking treatment from many doctors in Beijing, Xi'an, and Shanghai, he was told he would likely "spend his life in a wheelchair". At his lowest point, he was fortunate to find new life through traditional Chinese Qigong therapy.

In the 1980s, he was invited to star in several kung fu films in Hong Kong and mainland China, such as "The New Legend of Fong Sai Yuk," "Wu Lin Zhi," and "Prince of the Desert." He also starred in China's first kung fu movie about "Tai Chi," earning him the nickname "Twin Star of Martial Arts and Film".

He moved to Japan in 1988. Drawing from his personal experience with severe injury and immense suffering in his youth, he established "Huidan Gong · Huidan Meditation" and "Huidan Life Energy Therapy" in Japan, based on the Qigong therapies he had learned. Through these methods, he has healed countless patients diagnosed with incurable, severe, and terminal illnesses by modern medicine, creating numerous life miracles. His patients have included prime ministers, members of the royal family, Hollywood superstars, international tycoons, scientists, famous actors, athletes, doctors, and medical experts from all walks of life.

He guided the international model and actress Kaia through a 218-day Bigu fast, which is acclaimed as a world record for full fasting. Hollywood superstar Steven Seagal traveled from the U.S. to Japan specifically to undergo a 12-day full Bigu fast under his guidance. In Japan, he enabled a patient who had been bedridden for 18 years to stand up and walk within minutes. In China, he helped an elderly man who had been bedridden for 15 years due to a stroke to get up from his wheelchair and start walking in minutes. In Hong Kong, a patient who had been in a wheelchair for three years due to avascular necrosis of the femoral head was able to stand and walk within minutes. He has also used his powerful life energy (Qi) to bring several celebrities and wealthy individuals back from the brink of death, extending their lives. Former Japanese Prime Minister Toshiki Kaifu wrote the characters "Shen Qi" (神氣, Divine Energy) for him; Dr. Lily Sun, the granddaughter of Sun Yat-sen, wrote "Zhen Qi" (真氣, True Energy); and Foreign Minister Wang Yi wrote "Wen Wu Shuang Quan" (文武雙全, Proficient in both literary and martial arts). He has undergone rigorous scientific testing in Japan by universities, life science research institutes, and multiple television stations. A German television crew also traveled to Japan to conduct three days of testing and filming. The world-renowned water researcher Dr. Masaru Emoto tested his ability to change the crystallization of water with his external Qi and awarded him the world's only research certificate for "Changing Water Crystals with External Qi".

Mr. Guo is also the first Chinese person to be invited to speak about Chinese culture at the National Diet of Japan and Waseda University. In his more than 40 years in Japan, he has been featured in countless Chinese, Japanese, and English newspapers and magazines. The "National Diet News" ran a major 17-part series on him, calling him an "emissary of China's mysterious culture," and he is one of the earliest and most outstanding modern practitioners promoting the healing arts of martial medicine, also known as a "triple star" of martial arts, film, and medicine.

Mr. Liang Guo's professional background and practical achievements perfectly align with the institute's mission of integrating Eastern and Western wisdom. The invitation for Mr. Guo, a Chinese resident in Japan, to join its academic committee and be listed among the world's top experts and scholars, signifies that Chinese Qigong health preservation methods have entered the hall of modern medicine. It further represents the immense practical value of traditional Eastern health wisdom in the global field of longevity science. We thank Mr. Guo for bringing the Qigong of his homeland into the hall of modern medicine and for promoting Chinese culture on the world stage.
